First Charges Filed In Mueller Probe

DC grand jury approves first criminal charges in Mueller probe.

Arrests expected Monday.

Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation has filed its first criminal charges according to a new report.

CNN on Friday was the first to report that a federal grand jury in Washington DC approved the charges in the investigation.

A person familiar with the matter told CNN that “the charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.”

Arrangements are being made to take make arrests or take into custody anyone charged into custody as soon as Monday.

According to the report, prosecutor Andrew Weissmann was seen entering the Washington DC federal court where the grand jury hears testimony about the Russia investigation.

CNN noted seeing “a flurry of activity at the grand jury room.”

Special Counsel Muller’s investigation is focusing on both collusion between the Trump team and Russia as well as obstruction of justice.
