Ex-CIA Chief Has Been Talking To Mueller’s Investigators About Flynn
Former CIA Director James Woolsey confirms he’s been talking to Mueller.
NBC News has confirmed that former CIA Director James Woolsey has been in contact investigators working for special counsel Robert Mueller about his knowledge of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
In a statement to NBC News, Jonathan Franks, a spokesman for Woolsey, said “Ambassador Woolsey and his wife have been in communication with the FBI regarding the Sept. 19, 2016 meeting Ambassador Woolsey was invited to attend by one of Gen. Flynn’s business partners.”
“Ambassador Woolsey and his wife have responded to every request, whether from the FBI, or, more recently, the Office of the Special Counsel.”
In addition to being in touch with Mueller’s investigation into Russia collusion, Woolsey had also been in touch with the FBI both before Mueller took over the investigation.
Flynn has become a central figure in the Mueller’s investigation.
According to reports, Mueller is interested in September 2016 meeting that Woolsey attended with Flynn where Flynn discussed the potential to kidnap a U.S.-based Turkish cleric, Fethullah Gulen, back to Turkey.
