GOP Senator Kicks Cancer Patient Out Of Town Hall For Asking About Obamacare
This is a metaphor for the Republican health care plan.
Republican Senator Dean Heller had his security remove a stage 4 cancer patient from a town hall after she tried to ask him questions about the future of the Affordable Care Act.
A video of the incident was posted to Twitter by Battle Born Progress.
In the video, Laura Packard, who is battling stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma, stands up to ask Senator Heller about the implications of the Senate tax bill on the future of Obamacare.
And that is when two men from Heller’s security staff grab her remover her from the town hall.
Packard later posted on Twitter saying that she was warned to keep quiet by Heller’s “goons” before the town hall began.
“@SenDeanHeller’s goons threatened me before the event even started. (Srsly, wut?) Then he read my question from the stage, so I stood up to add to it. This is what happened next.”

Let’s be clear, @SenDeanHeller has REFUSED to hold a public townhall in #LasVegas for months. Today he held a public forum with Libre. It was open to the public. When people demanded answers from THEIR Senator they were thrown out. Period. #GOPTaxScam #GOPTaxbill #Nevada pic.twitter.com/lBOBlJxzhc

In May, Packard tweeted that she has stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“I have stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. 1st chemo today. Obamacare is literally keeping me alive & can get me cured. If it survives. #SavetheACA,” she wrote.
