Kushner Looking For Crisis Communications Firm To Deal With Russia Probe

A new report suggests Kushner may be bracing for more bombshell revelations in the Russia investigation.

In a sign that Jared Kushner may be bracing for more bombshell public revelations in the Russia investigation, a new report confirms the president’s son-in-law is seeking a crisis public relations firm.

The news was first reported by The Washington Post, and confirmed by Kushner’s legal team.

Investigators from special counsel Robert Mueller’s team have pressed witnesses about Kushner’s interactions with former national security adviser Michael Flynn in recent weeks. Adding to mounting speculation that Kushner will be the next person in Trump’s orbit to get ensnared in the Mueller investigation.

“My law firm and I are considering hiring an outside consultant to handle the time consuming incoming inquiries on the cases in which I am working that receive media attention,” Kushner’s attorney said. “This inquiry from you about whether I am doing this is a good example of why we need one.”

However, despite the claim that the attorney’s need help fielding press inquiries it seems odd that Kushner would hire a crisis communications firm this late in the game. Remember that there have been months of public revelations of improper meetings and communications between Kushner and foreign officials and Kushner has consistently failed to report those meetings on security clearance forms.

Which begs the question, why now? Why does Kushner suddenly want to hire a crisis communications firm? What has changed?

Thus far, Mueller’s investigation has led to major prosecutorial actions against four Trump associates.

Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his deputy Rick gates were indicted for several crimes, including money laundering.

And Mike Flynn, Trump’s national security adviser, has pled guilty to lying to the FBI and is now cooperating with Mueller’s team. In addition to Flynn, another Trump campaign official, George Papadopoulos, also pled guilty to lying to the FBI and is cooperating with Mueller.
