Only 7 Percent Think GOP Tax Bill Is Designed To Help Middle Class
New poll shows that not even Republicans believe that the bill is meant to help the middle class.
The Republican tax bill is profoundly unpopular. And not even Republicans seem to believe the lie that the bill is meant to help the middle class.
According to a new poll by NBC News, just 24 percent support the Republican tax bill.
And the opposition to the Republican bill is large and appears to be climbing fast.
In the new NBC poll, 41 percent said the GOP tax bill was a bad idea. That is up from 35 percent in October.
And Republicans themselves are not very fond of the bill either. Just 53 percent of Republicans said they support the bill.
A whopping 63 percent of Americans think the Trump tax plan was designed mostly to benefit corporations and the wealthy.
Just 22 percent thin the bill was designed to help all Americans equally.
And now the kicker.
Literally, just 7 percent of Americans think the GOP tax bill is designed to help the middle class specifically.
About the poll: The NBC/WSJ poll was conducted Dec. 13-15 of 900 adults — about half reached via cellphone — and it has an overall margin of error of plus-minus 3.3 percentage points.
