President Obama Is ‘Most Admired Man’ For 10th Year In A Row: Poll
The former president is America’s “most admired man.”
The annual Gallup poll asks Americans to name their most admired man and woman.
Former President Barack Obama came in first place this year, for the 10th year in a row.
President Obama received 17 percent of the vote while Donald Trump came in second with 14 percent.
Other top vote-getters were Pope Francis (3 percent) and the Reverend Billy Graham (2 percent).
Trump is one of few sitting presidents who have not been named the most admired among all Americans.
Last year, President Obama topped the list with 22 percent, while Trump garnered 15 percent.
This year’s results fell largely along party lines, with 35 percent of Republicans naming Trump as their most admired.
And among Democrats, 39 percent named Obama.
Independents picked Obama over Trump for their most admired by a 3-point margin.
About the poll: The Gallup survey was conducted Dec. 4–11 among 1,049 adults and has a margin of sampling error of 4 percentage points.
