Another Senior Republican Just Announced Plan To Retire
GOP Congressman Bill Shuster won’t run for re-election.
It sure looks like a lot of Republicans are not excited to run for re-election.
Republican Bill Shuster, chairman of the House Transportation Committee, confirmed to the Washington Examiner that he will not seek re-election in November.
Shuster is also notable because he is a member of GOP leadership.
Shuster is just the latest in a rush of GOP members of Congress to announce they don’t plan to run for re-election.
The GOP retirements come as several polls have found the likelihood of a Democratic wave in 2018 is rising.
Thus far, 18 Republican members of Congress have announced their plan not to run for re-election.
