Trump-Russia Investigation Will Focus On Money Laundering, Bannon Says
Steve Bannon seems confident that Mueller will get Kushner and Trump for money laundering.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into President Trump will focus on money laundering charges against Donald Trump and his family.
According to a book to be published next week, Stephen Bannon, Trump’s former White House chief strategist, believes that the Special Counsel investigation into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia will focus on money laundering.
The revelation part of a new book about the Trump White House called “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” by Michael Wolff.
According to The Guardian, which published several stories from the book on Wednesday, which includes interviews with both Steve Bannon and President Trump.
Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his associate Richard Gates were charged with money laundering in October by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
And according to Bannon that is just the beginning of the money laundering indictments that will be charged against Donald Trump hand his family.
In the new book, Bannon points to the Mueller’s hiring of prosecutor Andrew Weissmann as a “money-laundering guy.”
“You realize where this is going,” Bannon said in the book.
“This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy. Their path to fucking Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr and Jared Kushner. … It’s as plain as a hair on your face.”
Bannon also points to the Mueller’s subpoena of Trump’s banking records from Deutsche Bank.
“It goes through Deutsche Bank and all the Kushner shit,” Bannon said.
“The Kushner shit is greasy. They’re going to go right through that. They’re going to roll those two guys up and say play me or trade me.”
