Mueller Just Indicted 13 Russian Nationals In Trump-Russia Election Case

Special Counsel just handed down massive new indictments against Russians who broke U.S. laws with the intent to interfere with “with U.S. elections and political processes.”

Sure looks like Special Counsel Mueller has a major case on his hands.

According to a new report by ABC News, 13 Russian nationals and three Russian organizations have been indicted by Special Counsel Mueller’s investigators for violating U.S. criminal laws with the intent to interfere with “with U.S. elections and political processes.”

A Justice Department statement noted that “the indictment charges all of the defendants with conspiracy to defraud the United States, three defendants with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and five defendants with aggravated identity theft.”

The indictment also noted that the defendants by early to mid-2016 were “supporting the presidential campaign of then-candidate Donald J. Trump … and disparaging Hillary Clinton.”

Additionally, the indictment said “the organization,” known as the Internet Research Agency LLC, “sought, in part, to conduct what it called ‘information warfare against the United States of America’ through fictitious U.S. personas on social media platforms and other Internet-based media.”

“By in or around May 2014, the organization’s strategy included interfering with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, with the stated goal of “spread[ing] distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general.”
