Mueller Has Evidence Manafort Offered White House Job For Loans
Special Counsel Mueller is investigation Paul Manafort for offering a job in the Trump White House in exchange for bank loans.
Today is not a good day to be Paul Manafort.
First, it was revealed that Special Counsel Robert Mueller filed new criminal charges against Paul Manafort and Rick Gates in the Trump-Russia case.
And now a new report by NBC News reveals that Special Counsel investigators are investigating Paul Manafort for offering a banker a job at the Trump White House in exchange for giving him bank loans.
NBC has two sources that say Mueller is looking into whether Manafort offered Chicago banker Stephen Calk, the president of a bank from which Manafort received a total of $16 million in home loans, a Trump administration job.
According to the report, at least one employee of the bank said they felt “pressured” into approving the loans for Manafort, and other bank officials questioned whether the approval process was being conducted appropriately.
At least one bank official who felt pressured is now cooperating with Special Counsel Mueller’s investigators.
