Jared Kushner’s Security Clearance Just Got Downgraded
Kushner loses top-level security clearance.
After months of controversy over the status of Jared Kushner’s security clearance, it appears the first son-in-law just got his clearance level downgraded.
The downgrade of Kushner’s clearances came after a tumultuous few weeks where it was revealed that that Trump administration had dozens of senior officials operating on temporary clearances.
Kushner’s permanent clearance hit roadblocks after the FBI investigation of his background raised issues.
It has also been reported that part of the hold up in Kushner’s clearance is the Special Counsel’s Russia investigation.
Politico was first to report that Kushner has lost his top-level security clearance.
The Politico report went on to note that “All White House aides working on the highest-level interim clearances — at the Top Secret/SCI-level — were informed in a memo sent Friday that their clearances would be downgraded to the Secret level, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.”
