Stormy Daniels Offers To Give Back Trump’s $130,000 Payoff: Report

President Trump’s porn star payoff scandal is spiraling out of control.

Stormy Daniels, who had an affair with Donald Trump and was paid off just days before the 2016 election, is offering to return the $130,000 she received for her silence.

The revelation that Daniels is offering to return the money is the latest in the ongoing scandal that has rocked the Trump White House.

The New York Times was the first to report the story noting that Daniels’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, wrote a letter to Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, stating that Daniels would wire money into an account of President Trump’s choosing. And in return, the nondisclosure agreement between Trump and Daniels would then be voided.

The letter, which The New York Times obtained, gives Cohen until noon on Tuesday to respond to the offer.

The $130,000 payoff to Daniels likely qualifies as a campaign expenditure since the reason for the payment was to ensure news of the Trump affair didn’t break just days before the election.

If Cohen or another entity paid for the $130,000 then that would violate campaign spending laws. And if Trump himself paid the money, he would have needed to report the expenditure in campaign finance filings.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, alleges she had an affair with Trump more than a decade ago.

And Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, has acknowledged paying Daniels $130,000 just before the 2016 presidential election.

Daniels has since filed a lawsuit to nullify the nondisclosure agreement on the grounds that President Trump never signed it.
