Leaked Emails Show Carson Personally Involved In Buying $31,000 Dining Set
Ben Carson has claimed that he didn’t know about the extravagant purchase using taxpayer money, leaked emails show otherwise.
Ben Carson has come under fire for the purchase of a $31,000 dining set using taxpayer money, and now leaked emails reveal that Carson was involved in the purchase.
An important revelation because Carson has publicly claimed he was not involved in the purchase.
Leaked emails obtained by CNN, show that Carson was involved in the purchase.
A HUD staffer sent Carson’s assistant an email with the subject line “Secretary’s dining room set needed.” And the email referred to “printouts of the furniture the Secretary and Mrs. Carson picked out.”
Last month, HUD spokesperson Raffi Williams claimed that Carson and his wife had “no awareness” that the expensive dining set was being purchased. And another spokesperson for Carson saying: “The secretary did not order a new table. The table was ordered by the career staffers in charge of the building.”
