Nonpartisan Election Forecasters Move 9 More Districts Towards Democrats

The Cook Political Report updated its 2018 midterm prediction saying map looks even better for Democrats

The Cook Political Report, the leading nonpartisan election forecasting organization, updated its predictions for the 2018 election saying the House Congressional map is even more favorable for Democrats.

The new ratings released Friday come just days after the much-watched Pennsylvania special election where Democrats flipped a district that President Trump won in 2016 by 20 points.

Cook says that 9 more districts have now shifted to be more favorable for Democrats.

From lean Republican to toss-up:

GOP Rep. Leonard Lance (N.J.)
GOP Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.)
GOP Rep Keith Rothfus (Pa.)

From likely Republican to lean Republican:

Gop Rep. Steve Pearce’s (N.M.) open seat
Ex-Gop Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio) special election

From lean Democrat to likely Democrat:

Dem. Rep. Ami Bera (Calif.)

From likely Democrat to solid Democrat:
Dem Rep. Salud Carbajal (Calif.)
Dem Rep Charlie Crist (Fla.)
Dem Rep. Tom Suozzi (N.Y.)

Only one district moved toward the Republicans, which was as a result of the Pennsylvania gerrymander re-districting.
