Trump EPA Secretary Spent Over $120,000 On A Trip To Italy
Scott Pruitt’s Italian getaway cost taxpayers over $90,000 for just food, hotels and airfare.
The growing Trump administration scandal of senior cabinet officials spending lavishly on airfare and travel just got even bigger.
According to a new report by the AP reveals that EPA Secretary Scott Pruitt spent over $120,000 in taxpayer money on a trip to Italy.
The trip included $30,500 in security costs.
But the bulk of the money was spent on food, hotel and airfare on which Pruitt spent over $90,000.
As the AP notes, Pruitt’s trip to Bologna, Italy “came a week after the Trump administration announced its plans to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. He also went to Rome for a briefing at the U.S. embassy, a meeting with business leaders and private tours of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica.”
Pruitt is just the latest Trump official to get caught for spending lavishly on travel with taxpayer money.
