Trump’s Lead Russia Lawyer Just Resigned: Report
President Trump’s head lawyer in the Special Counsel investigation has resigned.
President Trump’s lead lawyer in the Russia investigation John Dowd has resigned, according to reports by both The Washington Post and New York Times.
According to the New York Times, “Mr. Dowd… ultimately concluded that Mr. Trump was increasingly ignoring his advice, one of the people said.”
The news comes just days after Trump hired conspiracy theorist Joseph E. diGenovato to join his legal team.
“Mr. Dowd’s departure marks the most prominent shake-up for the president’s legal team since he took over from the president’s longtime personal lawyer, Marc E. Kasowitz,” The New York Times notes.
Just 11 days ago Trump tweeted a denial to New York Times reporting that there would be a shakeup in his legal team. “The Failing New York Times purposely wrote a false story stating that I am unhappy with my legal team on the Russia case and am going to add another lawyer to help out. Wrong. I am VERY happy with my lawyers, John Dowd, Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow. They are doing a great job,” Trump tweeted.
MSNBC is also reporting that Donald Trump is considering bringing back his previous lawyer Marc Kasowitz who was removed from the team after a series of profanity-filled email rants.
.@JuliaEAinsley just reported on MSNBC that, according to two sources close to Trump's legal team, Trump is interested in bringing back his previous lawyer Marc Kasowitz (who was removed from the team last summer).
