Mueller Looking At $150,000 Payment To Trump Foundation From Ukraine

A Ukrainian oligarch made a $150,000 payment to Donald Trump’s foundation and now Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating the suspicious transaction.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team is investigating a suspicious payment from Ukrainian steel magnate to President Trump’s foundation in exchange for a 20-minute video appearance.

The New York Times was first to report Monday that the Special Counsel is investigating the $150,000 donation to the Donald J. Trump Foundation that Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk made in September 2015.

Trump was seeking the GOP nomination for president at the time and investigators are probing whether the payment was made to curry favor with Trump during the campaign and possibly whether the payment was a campaign finance violation.

According to The New York Times, the payment came after Trump spoke through a video link to a conference in Kiev.

The donation, according to the report, was solicited by Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, whose offices were raided by the FBI on Monday.
