WATCH: Jon Stewart Misses the Game, Returns to Rip Trump
Jon Stewart climbed out of his tunnel from his farm to appear on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Missing having his own show, Stewart took over for a few minutes to freak out over Trump’s treatment of the press.
“I mean the whole thing, is just, it’s just—it makes me so crazy! It makes me crazy. It’s upsetting!” Stewart exclaimed.
But after taking on Trump, Stewart turned his sights to the media. Stewart, in a way only he can, tore into the news media’s desperate need to cover Trump during the 2016 campaign. Now that Trump has “broken up” with the media, it’s time to pick themselves back up, maybe get a hobby – like “journalism” Stewart suggests.
“This breakup with Trump has given you, the media, an amazing opportunity for self-reflection and improvement. Instead of worrying whether Trump is un-American or if he thinks you’re the enemy… do something for yourself… I’d recommend journalism,” Stewart ends.
