House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Sunday slammed Donald Trump for his baseless claims that former President Obama wiretapped his office. Pelosi called Donald Trump the “deflector in chief.”
“That’s just ridiculous for President Trump to say that President Obama would ever order any wiretap of an American citizen, any president,” Pelosi said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“It’s the tool of an authoritarian to have them always be talking about what you want to be talking about,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi noted that Trump is trying avoid and distract from the real story of his connections to Russia.
“Rather than Russia, we’re talking about President Obama … When he’s been not in favor of Congress investigating anything, including what the Russians have on Donald Trump politically, financially or personally. That’s the truth we want to know,” Pelosi said.
