Mike Pence Was Informed That Flynn Would Need To Register As Foreign Agent 3 Months Ago
Questions continue to swirl what the Trump team knew regarding Mike Flynn’s need to register as a foreign agent for lobbying work on behalf of Turkey. It was revealed that Flynn was paid over $500,000 to a foreign agent for the nation of Turkey at the same time that he sat in on top secret national security briefings during the Trump campaign.
And Friday news reports confirmed that the Trump transition including the head of the transition team, Mike Pence, were warned of Flynn’s work on behalf of Turkey months ago.
Congressman Elijah Cummings noted Friday that he wrote a letter to Mike Pence three months ago raising questions about Flynn’s work for Turkey.
“If the Vice President had heeded my warnings, it’s clear now he could have prevented the problems that occurred with Lt. General Flynn,” Cummings said in a statement.
But here is one little problem, Vice President Mike Pence is saying he is only just hearing about the matter.
According to the Chicago Tribune, “Among those told of Flynn’s lobbying work during the transition was Don McGahn, a campaign lawyer who has gone on to become White House counsel, according to a person with direct knowledge of the conversations between Flynn’s representatives and the transition team.”
