Trump Admin, Nunes Are Blocking Sally Yates From Congressional Testimony

This is what cover ups look like folks.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes has canceled all planned Russia hearings for the week including a hearing where former acting Attorney General Sally Yates was set to testify. And on the same day that the Yates hearing was canceled the White House objected to him about her planned testimony.

Yates was is the former acting Attorney General that led the Justice Department before Jeff Sessions was confirmed by the Senate. She was fired by Trump when she refused to enforce his Muslim-ban.

Then on Tuesday, the Washington Post reported that Yates had informed the White House that t was revealed that Mike Flynn, the then National Security Adviser, had been lying about his contact with the Russian ambassador.

And here is where the cover up comes in.

“The Trump administration sought to block former acting attorney general Sally Yates from testifying to Congress in the House investigation of links between Russian officials and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign,” the Washington Post noted.

Then earlier this month, the Trump administration notified Yates that it considers much of her testimony to be covered by executive privilege, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Here is a key section from the Washington Post report, “Yates and another witness at the planned hearing, former CIA director John Brennan, had made clear to government officials by Thursday that their testimony to the committee probably would contradict some statements that White House officials had made, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity.”

The next day, when Yate’s lawyer informed the White House that she still wanted to testify – Devin Nunes magically canceled the hearing.

Now you are probably thinking isn’t Nunes part of a separate branch of government that is meant to oversee the White House? Sure, but Nunes is a lapdog and not a Congressman.
