On Tuesday night’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert lampooned Trump administration for being so desperate to change the subject from their health care failure and all things Russia that they decided to announce that corporations can poison the planet.
Trump tried to pitch the executive order as being about ‘energy independence’ and ‘clean coal,’ but Colbert (and the rest of the world) saw right through that.
“I know ‘clean coal’ sounds like an oxymoron,” Stephen Colbert said. “But so does President Trump.”
Colbert continued, “Back in high school, I had a girlfriend in Canada, she was a clean coal miner. And she told me that they mine the clean coal and then put it on that silver bullet train and they send it to Narnia where the Keebler elves use it to power the pump on the fountain of youth.”
