Georgia Congressional Race Moved To Toss Up As Democrat Gains Momentum
Democrats just got some great news in the Georgia congressional race to fill Republican Tom Price’s seat.
With just a week to go, the race to fill the Georgia congressional seat left open by Republican Tom Price is heating up and Democrats are gaining momentum. The Cook Political report just moved the race from “Lean Republican” into the “Toss Up” category.
The district was thought to be a safe Republican district but a surge of national attention from Democrats has made the race competitive.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has committed more than 70 staffers to the district over the past month. In addition, the DCCC launched a get-out-the-vote effort which includes a large radio and digital buy targeting African-American turnout.
The Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff recently announced a massive $8 million fundraising haul and a recent poll showed him to be the favorite among the large crowd of Republicans.
