In the latest installment of his web series, “The Resistance” Keith Olbermann makes a bold claim – Michael Flynn has flipped on Trump.
Olbermann draws on the surge of new stories about Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner noting that they could be the result of a Mike Flynn deal with investigators.
“There’s reason to believe that the former national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has already flipped and has already begun to offer testimony against the Trump regime to the authorities, and that the present flood of Kushner stories mainlines directly back to Flynn and that the Kushner crises may in effect be Flynn’s samples,” Olbermann said.
Olbermann conceded, “It’s speculative at best.”
Though he did offer a strong defense saying that “two of the smartest people” he’d ever interviewed, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and national security analyst Juliette Kayyem, “are doing some of this speculating.”
Olbermann then referred to a recent CNN interview that Senator Whitehouse gave during which he offered “there is at least a reasonable hypothesis that Mike Flynn is already cooperating with the Department of Justice investigation and perhaps even has been for some time.”
Whitehouse continued by saying that if this is the case, “having congressional committees drag him in front of Congress could be a significant interference.”
Olbermann then noted a recent interview with Juliette Kayyem where she said a deal between the Deportment of Justice and Flynn “explains why Flynn’s lawyers are not being cooperative with the Senate and House.”
Olbermann noted that Kayyem has been right on the Trump-Russia scandal all along, reminding us that she pointed out the likelihood of grand jury subpoenas weeks before they were reported.
