Alec Baldwin Helps Raise $5M for New Jersey Democrats

All 120 seats of the New Jersey Legislature are up for election in November, along with the governor’s seat.

Alec Baldwin, who has been mocking Trump all year on Saturday Night Live, helped raise $5.1 million at a fundraiser last night.

According to the General Majority PAC, the fundraiser’s organizers, the amount of money raised is believed to be the most ever raised by either major party at one event in the state’s history.

The total is nearly as much as the PAC spent in 2015, when all 80 seats in the Assembly were on the ballot, according to Politico New Jersey.

“Tonight’s event puts New Jersey Democrats in a great position to win important races across the state this year,” Tricia Mueller, General Majority’s treasurer, said in a statement.
