Americans Oppose Trump On Paris Withdrawal by 2 To 1 Margin
Donald Trump’s Paris Climate Decisions Is Very, Very Unpopular.
Americans are overwhelmingly unhappy with Donald Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord, according to a new poll.
In fact, the decision will damage the United States’ global leadership, the ABC News/Washington Post poll found.
The poll found that 59 percent of Americans opposed Trump’s decision, while just 28 percent approve the decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Accord.
Americans also don’t buy Trump’s claims that leaving the Paris Agreement would somehow benefit the U.S. economy.
Just 32 percent of Americans believe leaving the agreement will be good for the economy, while 42 percent think it will hurt the economy and 20 percent say it will make no difference.
The poll also found that 55 percent of Americans think that Trump’s decision will hurt U.S. leadership in the world.
About the poll: The Post-ABC poll was conducted Friday to Sunday among a random national sample of 527 adults, including users of cellular and landline phones. The margin of sampling error for overall results is plus or minus five percentage points.
