Donald Trump hires his Son-in-Law Jared Kushner for a White House position

The move reignites major concerns about nepotism and the worries that Trump’s White House will be too closely connected to his family and their various business entanglements.

Jared Kushner is of course married to Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, who has a prominent role within his businesses.

Kushner played a high-level role in Trump’s presidential campaign.

Nepotism in the White House

However, by naming his son-in-law – the heir to a billion dollar real estate and media empire –  to his White House staff, Trump will be again entangling his family and their various business interests with the work of the presidency.

The New York Times, which is one of the outlets reporting the news, said the the following:

“The rumored post has focused attention on Mr. Kushner’s myriad potential conflicts of interest, including a Chinese development deal that’s in the works. Then there’s the issue of whether a son-in-law in the West Wing violates antinepotism laws.”
