Senate Intel Committee Will Receive Comey Memos: Report
The Senate Intelligence Committee has reached an agreement that will allow them to receive former FBI Director James Comey’s memos about his meetings with Donald Trump.
According to Politico, “The Senate Intelligence Committee has reached an agreement to receive memos written by former FBI Director James Comey detailing his interactions with President Donald Trump, Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) told POLITICO on Wednesday.”
Comey testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee that he kept detailed notes of all his encounters with Donald Trump. Comey said that Donald Trump pressured him to drop the investigation into Michael Flynn.
Comey also testified that Trump never once asked him what the country could do to protect itself from another Russia intrusion.
According to Politico, “‘I’ve got a commitment,’ Burr said when asked whether his panel would get access to the documents. Asked who gave him that commitment, the senator responded: ‘I’m not going to tell you.'”
