New Poll Has Very Troubling Numbers For Donald Trump
A new Quinnipiac poll released Thursday has some very troubling numbers for Donald Trump.
Donald Trump’s approval rating continues to be extremely low at just 40 percent, with 55 percent disapproving of the job Trump is doing as president.
However, the more troubling numbers come with a series of questions about Donald Trump’s personal qualities.
Here are the key findings from the poll:
- 63 percent say that Donald Trump is not level-headed
- 57 percent say that Trump is not an honest person
- 54 percent say he doesn’t have good leadership skills
- 59 percent say that Donald Trump does not share their values
- 55 percent say he doesn’t care about average American
- 52 percent say that Donald Trump is abusing the powers of his office
In addition, 54 percent of Americans believe that Donald Trump fired James Comey to disrupt the FBI’s Russia investigation.
And 54 percent believe James Comey’s testimony that Donald Trump pressed him to drop the investigation of Michael Flynn.
Americans want Democrats in charge of Congress
The Quinnipiac poll also found some positive numbers for Democrats. According to the poll, Americans voters want to see the Democratic Party control the House by a 51 to 41 margin.
And independent voters 49 percent want to see Democrats in control of Congress with just 41 percent of independents wanting Republicans.
Voters also want Democrats in charge of the Senate with 51 percent saying they want Democrats in charge of the Senat. Additionally, 51 percent of independents want Democrats in charge of the Senate.
About the poll: From June 22 – 27, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,212 voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 3.4 percentage points, including the design effect. Live interviewers call landlines and cell phones.
