Trump Is Actively Trying To Undermine Special Counsel: Report

Donald Trump is asking his lawyers about his pardoning powers.

We are barreling towards a constitutional crisis.

Donald Trump is actively working to undermine the Special Counsel’s investigation into him, his campaign, his business and his associates, according to a new report in the Washington Post.

The Trump team, according to the bombshell report, is “actively compiling a list of Mueller’s alleged potential conflicts of interest.”

As part of that effort, Trump’s lawyers are actively exploring ways to undermind Mueller’s investigation including “building a case against what they allege are his conflicts of interest and discussing the president’s authority to grant pardons, according to people familiar with the effort.”

Included in that effort is an exploration of Trump’s ability to pardon his associates, family and even himself.

“The president is also irritated by the notion that Mueller’s probe could reach into his and his family’s finances, advisers said,” The Washington Post reported.

And Trump was especially enraged after finding that the Special Counsel could access his tax returns, according to a source who spoke with the Post.

Additionally, Mark Corallo, the spokesman for Trump’s legal team, resigned Thursday, the Washington Post reports.

The New York Times also reported Thursday about similar efforts by the Trump legal team to discredit Mueller.

The report comes after a New York Times interview Wednesday night where Trump threatened Mueller not to look into his family’s finances.
