Republicans Finally Unveil Contents Of Skinny Bill Few Hours Before Vote

Skinny bill is a fat joke.

Well, Senate Republicans have finally unveiled the contents of the so-called “skinny” repeal bill Thursday night or early Friday morning.

The Senate is expected to vote on the bill that was just unveiled Thursday night.

The new bill is being called the “Health Care Freedom Act.”

Oh, and by the way, the bill that Republicans are putting forth to remake 1/6 of the American economy is only 8 pages long.

Here are the key parts of the new Republican bill:

  • Repeals the individual mandate
  • Repeals the employer mandate
  • Allows states to waive parts of Obamacare’s “essential benefits” aka pre-existing conditions coverage
  • Defund Planned Parenthood
  • No funding for the opioid crisis

The CBO previously estimated that the “skinny” repeal would result in at least 16 million people losing their health insurance.

Several GOP senators, including John McCain and Lindsey Graham, on Thursday, announced they will vote against the bill unless they get assurances the skinny bill would go to a conference with the House and never actually become law.
