Susan Collins Leading Bipartisan Group Of Senators To Work On Health Care

Interesting development.

After the monumental failure of the Republican Obamacare repeal bill in the Senate on Friday morning, it looks like there are glimmers of bipartisanship emerging.

Republican Susan Collins, who voted no on all forms of Obamacare repeal that were put forward, is apparently leading the bipartisan working group, The Hill reported Friday evening.

Democrat Bill Nelson of Florida said he and Susan Collins “are now working together” with a bipartisan group of senators on health care.

“This group of senators met for dinner the other night to start sharing our ideas and discussing a path forward. While we still have a long way to go, we are starting to work together to try to get this done in a bipartisan way,” Nelson said on Friday.

Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Joe Donnelly and Jeanne Shaheen were all spotted at having bipartisan dinner.

“Rather than engage in partisan exercises, Republicans and Democrats should work together to address these very serious problems,” Collins said about the GOP’s Obamacare repeal bill.
