Former Republican Senator Calls For Donald Trump To Be Removed From Office
Former Senator Humphrey says Donald Trump is “seriously sick” and is unfit to serve as president.
A former United States Senator is calling for Donald Trump to be removed from office, following his unhinged threat of nuclear war with North Korea.
Former Republican Senator Gordon Humphrey, who was a member of the “Never Trumpers,” said “President Trump’s threat to rain down ‘fire and fury’ on North Korea is like pouring gasoline on a fire. It’s crazy.”
“Donald Trump is impaired by a seriously sick psyche. His sick mind and reckless conduct could consume the lives of millions. The threat of nuclear war is steeply on the rise,” Humphrey continued.
Humphrey also called for a Congressional Oversight Commission on Presidential Capacity Act, which would set up a commission to determine whether the president is mentally fit.
Humphrey led unsuccessful efforts at last month’s Republican National Convention to change party rules to allow delegates to break against Trump rather than hand him the nomination.
Humphrey represented New Hampshire in the US Senate from 1978 to 1990, he was considered one of the most conservative members of the Senate.
