President Obama’s Charlottesville Response Is One Of Most Popular Tweets Ever

Interesting how being for love and against hate is a popular position to take.

Former President Obama’s tweet in response to the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville is one of the most popular tweets of all time.

On Saturday, Obama tweeted out a quote from Nelson Mandela, the late South African President and human rights icon.

The tweet now has over 1 million retweets, more than 2.5 million likes and about 40,000 comments.

According to Twitter tracking site Favstar, Obama’s tweet is now the most liked tweet of all time.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion…” Obama tweeted Saturday.

“People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love…”

“…For love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” – Nelson Mandela

Donald Trump faced massive backlash after failing to condemn the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville.
