New Poll: Trump Approval Rating At Historic Lows

Donald Trump’s approval rating remains at historic lows.

Another poll has confirmed Donald Trump’s historically low approval rating.

According to the new Marist poll, just 35 percent of Americans approve of Donald Trump job performance as president.

And 55 percent say they disapprove of Trump.

These are the highest ever disapproval ratings for Trump in the Marist poll.

In the last Marist poll in June, Trump’s approval rating was at 37 percent and his disapproval was at 51 percent.

More confirmation that Trump’s base is eroding

The Marist poll also confirms what other recent polls have found – Trump’s base of support is eroding.

According to Maris, Americans who identify as strong Republicans have a less positive view of Trump’s job performance with 91 percent approving of his performance in June compared to 79 percent in the new poll.

Additionally, Trump’s support among Republicans is also eroding. Americans who identify as strong Republicans have a favorable view of Donald Trump at 80 percent. That number was 94 percent in June.

Several other recent polls have confirmed the same trend. Trump’s so-called “strong support” has been decreasing substantially.

The most recent Gallup poll found Trump’s approval rating to be at a record low in that poll – 34 percent.

About the poll: The Marist poll was conducted between August 8 and August 12 and surveyed 1,009 people.
