Cover Up Of Trump Jr’s Russia Meeting Now In Focus By Mueller’s Team

We just got our evening helping of Trump-Russia news.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators are now focusing in on the cover up of Donald Trump Jr.’s 2016 Russia meeting, NBC News is reporting.

“Federal investigators working for Special Counsel Robert Mueller are keenly focused on President Donald Trump’s role in crafting a response to a published article about a meeting between Russians and his son Donald Jr.,” NBC reports.

Mueller’s investigators are focused on what Trump knew about the Trump meeting and whether he attempted to cover it up.

Mueller’s investigation includes obstruction of justice. A cover up after news of the meeting broke would be highly relevant to an obstruction of justice investigation.

The 2016 meeting at Trump Tower occurred in June 2016 and was attended by Donald Trump Jr., Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

After The New York Times broke the story, Donald Trump dictated his son’s public statement on the issue. The statement turned out to be filled with lies and half truths.
