With questions already swirling about how invested Donald Trump is in the job of being president, it was just announced that the president-elect will be serving as the executive producer of the show Celebrity Apprentice. Trump will be paid a per episode fee – likely to be in the five figures – for the eight-episode season.
Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, of course, defended her boss in an interview with CNN.
“Presidents have a right to do things in their spare time,” Conway told CNN New Day host Alisyn Camerota. After calling Trump “a very transparent guy,” Conway said, “Everyone can see what he’s doing, and the fact is that he is conferring with all types of experts who tell him what he can do and not do as President of the United States. If this is one of the approved activities, then perhaps he will consider staying on.”
The fact that Donald Trump and his adviser Kellyanne Conway think that he is going to have “spare time” while being the president to fool around with a reality tv show is beyond troubling.
