Science Division of White House Now Has Zero Employees
All employees of the science division of the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) have left.
Sources told CBS News that last week there were three employees in the division – who were there from the Obama administration.
However, due to Trump’s lack of commitment to science and scientific research, those employees have left.
Under President Obama, the science division had nine employees who worked on policy issues including biotechnology and STEM.
On Friday afternoon, Eleanor Celeste, the assistant director for biomedical and forensic sciences at the OSTP, tweeted, “Science division out. Mic drop” before leaving the office.

Kumar Garg, a former OSTP staffer under Obama, responded to Eleanor’s tweet, “By COB today, number of staffers in White House OSTP’s Science Division = 0.”

A White House official commented on the situation defending, “All of the work that we have been doing is still being done.” They added that “35 staffers currently work across the OSTP.”
However, 35 employees in OSTP under Trump is nothing compared to the over 100 employees Obama hired during his administration.
