Trump Celebrates One Year Anniversary In Office With Government Shutdown
Republicans, with complete control over Washington, still manage to shut down the government.
Time has run out. The Republican-led Congress late Friday night let government funding expire causing the government to shut down.
This is the first time in history that a government shutdown has occurred when one party is in control of both the Congress and the White House.
Several Senate Republicans joined Democrats to vote against cloture in the Senate meaning the continuing resolution bill that House Republicans passed will not come up for a vote. The bill required 60 votes but only received 50 votes.
