Trump Told Acting FBI Director To Ask His Wife How It Felt To Be A Loser
Trump personally attacked the wife of acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
According to a new report by NBC News, the day after firing FBI Director James Comey, Trump called the then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe that he should ask his wife how it felt to be a loser.
Trump originally called McCabe to complain that James Comey was allowed to fly back to Washington DC on a government plane.
McCabe told Trump that he hadn’t been asked about the flight but that if he was asked he would have authorized it.
Trump then changed the topic to attack McCabe’s wife.
“The president was silent for a moment and then turned on McCabe, suggesting he ask his wife how it feels to be a loser — an apparent reference to a failed campaign for state office in Virginia that McCabe’s wife made in 2015,” NBC reports.
McCabe then responded by saying, “Okay, sir.”
McCabe’s wife had run as a Democrat for state office in Virginia but had lost the race.

Trump made the remarks in a phone call to McCabe the day he fired FBI Director James Comey that was placed to demand why Comey was allowed to fly on a FBI plane from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., after being fired.
McCabe told Trump that he hadn’t been asked about the flight but that he would have authorized it if he had.
