Manafort At Center Of Russian Collusion Investigation: Report Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort is at the center of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 campaign. Bipartisan Group Of Senators Introduce Bill To Protect Mueller Congress continues to break with Donald Trump. Bipartisan support to protect special counsel Robert Mueller from being fired by Donald Trump is growing rapidly. On Thursday, Republican Senator Thom Tillis and Democrat Chris Coons introduced a bill that would prevent the President from firing any Special Counsel.
